Designed to provide the perfect balance of heating performance and everyday functionality, Rutland London's heated utility racks feature integrated hooks alongside a cast iron radiator insert, providing useful hanging space together with generous heat output. The Norland combines these practical features with a substantial brass framework for a distinctive architectural presence.
Handmade to order in our family-owned factory in Hampshire, England, the Norland features high-quality 32mm diameter DZR brass tube together with substantial 100mm brass wall and floor plates. The combination of handcrafted brasswork and a traditional cast iron radiator insert creates a robust and beautifully considered piece of functional heating.
The Norland is supplied with three hooks as standard, with additional hooks available on request. If you require hooks to be positioned on a lower bar, for example to make them more accessible to children, please contact our office when ordering.
The Norland Heated Utility Rack can be operated directly from a central heating system or as a standalone electric radiator where conventional pipework or plumbing installation is limited. Please note, however, that this product should only be installed on a closed circuit system and we do not recommend fitting it to a salt-softened water system unless otherwise agreed with your installer. The Norland cannot be fitted to a domestic hot water system.
For year-round operation, we recommend combining the two heating configurations in a dual fuel arrangement, allowing the heated utility rack to provide warmth independently of the central heating system when required.
The Norland is available to purchase online in Polished (Unlacquered) Brass. This is a living finish which will naturally age and develop a patina over time, with the rate and extent of patination dependent on the environment in which the product is installed.
The integrated cast iron radiator insert is finished using a durable aerospace-grade paint coating. Bespoke insert colours can also be accommodated, including gloss or satin finishes and colours matched or closely coordinated with popular paint brands such as Farrow & Ball, Little Greene and Paint & Paper Library.
