With its graceful proportions and distinctive French-inspired silhouette, the Hereford Freestanding Cast Iron Bath offers an elegant interpretation of traditional roll top bathroom design. Decorative ball & claw feet, softly curved lines and a beautifully proportioned form give the Hereford considerable character, while its relatively compact dimensions make it particularly appealing where bathroom space is more considered.
Smaller in scale than many traditional freestanding baths, the Hereford Cast Iron Bath provides an opportunity to introduce the presence and character of cast iron into bathrooms where a larger roll top bath may prove impractical. Its compact proportions make it particularly well suited to guest bathrooms, smaller principal bathrooms and carefully planned interiors where efficient use of space remains important.
The Hereford features a single-ended configuration with an end-positioned waste and overflow, creating a comfortable reclining position while retaining its elegant traditional profile. The absence of deck-mounted tap holes makes the bath particularly suited to pairing with wall-mounted or freestanding bath taps, allowing the clean lines of the roll top to remain uninterrupted.
Manufactured from high-quality cast iron before being individually finished by hand in England, the Hereford combines substantial construction with the individual character associated with traditional cast iron manufacturing. Its interior features a durable vitreous enamel coating, providing a practical bathing surface while complementing the classical appearance of the bath.
The exterior of the Hereford is finished using a durable aerospace-grade paint coating, with a matt finish providing a refined and understated appearance. Alternative satin and gloss finishes can also be specified, together with colours selected to closely complement leading interior paint collections including Farrow & Ball, Little Greene and Paint & Paper Library.
This extensive choice of colour provides considerable freedom when incorporating the Hereford into an individually designed bathroom. Soft neutral shades can reinforce its elegant French influence, while deeper or more expressive colours can emphasise the sculptural form of the bath and create a striking contrast against marble, natural stone or decorative wall finishes.
For luxury villas, private residences, hotels and interior design projects throughout the UAE and wider Middle East, the Hereford provides an elegant solution where the character of a traditional freestanding cast iron bath is desired without the scale associated with larger designs. Its combination of compact proportions, French-inspired styling and extensive colour choice makes it particularly versatile for carefully planned luxury interiors.
Traditional cast iron manufacturing creates a product with an inherently individual character. Minor surface undulations, pitting, burrs and other casting marks may therefore be visible beneath the painted or enamelled surfaces. These characteristics are a natural consequence of the casting and finishing processes and should not be considered defects or warranty matters, but rather inherent characteristics of an authentically manufactured cast iron bath.
Due to the nature of the casting process, a dimensional tolerance of approximately ±20mm should be allowed when planning the installation. Cast iron baths are exceptionally substantial and can, in some instances, exceed 200kg in weight, so site access, handling, floor construction and final positioning should be carefully considered prior to delivery.
